Does Your Church Have Unity?

"Did you hear what she wants to do? Paint the church basement yellow? Why, I never!" I'm sure this never happens in your church, but I'm afraid I've heard silly disagreements in my church! You expect to hear complaining in the workplace, at the PTA meeting, but not in the house of God, right? Actually, it helps me be more patient when I try to remember that the church is full of people who need to be there, including me! We all have different personalities, strengths and weaknesses. And just like families at home have disagreements, the church family can have disagreements too.

I try to remember to be patient and loving in my speech to others, and especially to my church family. My goal is to live the verse from Romans 12:18. So whether people want the church basement to be yellow or blue, or you hear disagreements about leaving the skin on or off the chicken when baking for the church dinner, remember to always speak in love and smile and maybe help the two groups come together with a solution, because blessed are the peacemakers! Hmm, yellow and blue make green; we just found the solution to the new basement color. We'll work on the chicken solution later.

Galations 6:10 "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."

Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."

Romans 12:18 "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone."

Psalm 133:1 "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity."

Galations 6:2 "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
