My Child

My shadow will follow you
in all you say and do

yes forgiven are you
never forsaken

start your day
silent in prayer

nailing those burdens
to that cross

believe that you are
who you are in me

open your eyes
see what I see

I created you
walk in my light

deny self
follow me

my word is true
so hold it tight

“I chose these scars for you”
