And the rain will batter you
Splash across your face
With such fury that you know
Surely you must drown.
Not unlike the tears of sorrow
Humanity has wept,
Ever since it all began,
To no avail.
And you go away to wander
Where, the winds know best
Constantly blown, turned about and lost,
From yourself and all who seek you.
And the rain will lash you
Cutting across your soul
Seeping into your very being
Until you are to see
Not unlike the tears of sorrow
That are building up
A torrential torment within me
Symbolic of what, I do not know
Only that they are choking me
With such great intent
Yet I have not the words, not understanding
To explain its mystery to you.
