$12 million Chair in Jewish studies at Stanford University reconstituted by Peter Menkin
by Peter Menkin
A Chair in Jewish studies has been reconstituted at Stanford University's School of Education where doctoral students will pursue culture, history, language, and all the elements that constitute the Jewish faith of which religion is a salient feature. So notes one authority involved with the $12 million dollar endowment. The San Francisco-based Jim Joseph Foundation construes education broadly: camps, youth groups, Jewish service learning, and trips to Israel. Doctoral students will learn about the religion of the Jewish people in America. That is part of the Jim Joseph Foundation charter, to provide the American Jewish community with education.

The Hypocrisy of the Homosexual Movement
by
The term men who have sex with men (MSM) refers to all men who have sex with other men, regardless of how they identify themselves (gay, bisexual, or heterosexual). In the United States, HIV and AIDS have had a tremendous impact on MSM. Consider these facts:
AIDS has been diagnosed for more than half a million MSM. Over 300,000 MSM with AIDS have died since the beginning of the epidemic.
MSM made up more than two thirds (68%) of all men living with HIV in 2005, even though only about 5% to 7% of men in the United States reported having sex with other men.
In a 2005 study of 5 large US cities, 46% of African American MSM were HIV-positive.

Should School Districts lower Graduation requirements?
by Robert Randle
The Seattle, WA School District is the latest entrant in the ongoing controversy to eliminate a numerical grading system in favor of simply, "PASS of FAIL." Proponents believe this will eliminate the embarassment that comes with receiving a particular grade and although the SISD wants to merely require a minimum grade of "D" for passing, citing that it does at least say the student did not fail but learned something; no matter how marginal it might be. In a recent opinion poll an overwhelming 94% disagree with the attempt to drop the graduation requirement for a diploma to a "D;" thereby not allowing a student to meet the minimum academic entrance for college, as well as the impact on finding employment in this econmy with such a dismal scholastic performance.

Where is God? a short essay by Peter Menkin
by Peter Menkin
There are so many ways to God in Christ, that the daily work and living is part of the God experience. "I am the vine, and you are the branches." Shortened as these readings may be, they are departure points for the inquirer and seeker. Without doubt, God is an ambiquity, and matter of wrestling with life and Him, of even giving up ones life to find God in Christ. A wise man told me, "Live the questions."
