Words, Words, Words.

Words, Words, Words

Looking at the word "Purposefulness" I mused "That's a bit of a mouthful for a topic!"

I began to write and got deeply involved in theological principles and arguments. This was interesting to me, but I felt that it would interest no-one else. Perhaps it could be said that I therefore lost interest myself.

So I further mused that the word Purposefulness contained a lot of words, and began to write some, not allowing myself words of less than four letters. In only a brief while I came up with 34 derivative words plus a few plurals, and I can't imagine that this was exhaustive at all.
Studying this array of disconnected verbiage it occurred to me that, not only the word purposefulness had meaning, energy, direction, history, roots, and a value of its own, but that every word derived from it had also a fascinating history, origin, story to tell, and change cycle.
Now it came to me that to study even one of these words would be fascinating, especially to examine the changes in its use from century to century, from generation to generation. Like people, words are totally fascinating.

Perhaps the most interesting derivative word (from "purposefulness") to study at this moment would be the word "fuel", seeing that the price is going right through the roof at present.

The escalating price of FUEL could be fuel for a war for all I know-

The PRESS PREEN on PROSE RUEFUL though many of us might be about that. Their PURPOSE is to REFUEL the SUSPENSE. LOSERS might LURE us into a SHEER REEF of RULES and SPUR us on to REFUEL the argument with a SLUR. The POPE, in PURPLE, POSES with his PEOPLE proffering SENSE. NURSES FUSS because they FEEL the LOSSES.
War is so PURPOSELESS. I SUPPOSE, as I PRUNE the ROSES of their SURPLUS, that I FEEL the LURE of FUEL makes the warmongers UNFURL the battle flags.

Such is the total nonsense I can devise from the word purposefulness.

It strikes me that, had I chosen another word, say costermongering, (tampering with major orchestral or choral works as Sir Michael Costa did with Handel!) which I found in Mrs Byrne's Dictionary of Unusual, Obscure and Preposterous words (love that word, preposterous), the list would have looked very different.

A GRINGO in the CONGO bought a RING with a GREEN STONE from a STERN STOOGE in a STRONG room. This was GRIST to his mill although the COST did STING his wallet. Then, with GRIT and a big GRIN did he GREET his sweetheart to state the TERMS of his love, but she gave him the GONG.

The gr's did well here. The words lack the letter u which largely characterised the first set of words. If one were comparing it with races one might say the DNA was different. You could almost say that a look at the word would identify which list it came from! The words almost have a racial perspective because it's clear which words originate from which "father" word.

These words had no choice about their "father". Amazingly my purposefulness in life depends entirely upon my choice of Father who then gives me His DNA (Spirit of Truth).and joins me to his eternal purpose. (Well, I chose the "Father" with the capital letters of course! The father of lies is poor choice as far as I'm concerned).

Just a thought:
It's interesting that, in this allegorical "exercise" it's WORDS that have fathers.

Look what the real fathers are called! One is the Truth (I am the way, the truth and the life), and the other is the father of lies both Truth and lies are contained in spoken or written - words!) God created the world with a command (word). Then He sent His Son into the world. The Son is called "the Word" (John 1:1 NKJ) and also "The Truth'.(John 14:6)

So those words I was playing with arrange themselves into "tribes" according to the "father" word, and simulate a recognisable "genetic" structure. Just like people!

The people are made in the image of God, (who walked in human flesh on earth as the Word of God, and interestingly enough describes Himself as the alphabet Omega and Alpha the Alphabet being the father of all words!)

God sets His Word above His Name (which has all authority on earth).

The long and the short of it is that everything is achieved through words. We are the children of the Truth or of the father of lies by our own choice. No wonder everything is in the power of the tongue! (James 3::4)

Our purposefulness is fulfilled through the tongue because of the words with which we create our world!
