October Baby is opening in theaters nationwide March 23, 2012. This powerful film combines truth and sensitivity to the issue of abortion and those who have survived abortions. That is right many times babies have actually survived an abortion. If that surprises or outrages you, you must see this film to fully understand the impact it has on the child and how they can overcome those feelings. From the directors to the cast to the amazing true stories that the film's story is based on this is a very entertaining, heartbreaking, and thought provoking movie that challenges viewers to see the importance of every life.

October Baby is the story of a 19 year old girl, Hannah played by Rachel Hendrix (debut feature film). She has felt different in many ways most of her life, but her medical issues really cause her to feel alone and different. Her mother has told her the medical issues are because of her traumatic birth. Now due to more medical issues she is finally told that she was adopted. Hannah is outraged that her parents have kept that from her and demands to know who her biological mother is and she wants answers. She learns that her longtime friend Jason played by Jason Burkey (Lukewarm, Writer's Block) is going on a trip with some of his friends, including the hilarious BMac played by Christian recording artist Chris Sligh. Against her parent's wishes she tags along in hopes of finding her real mother and the truth. The trip turns into a comical adventure as the group sets off in BMac's broken down VW mini-bus. Along the way Hannah discovers many things she was never told, but are they really what she wants to know about? Or was the protected life her parents gave her enough?

October Baby the movie has a very touching story, but when you know that the story is actually a combination of three true stories it only makes it more meaningful. The producers, brothers Jon and Andrew Erwin, are giving 10% of profits of the film to the Every Life is Beautiful Fund. The money will be distributed to frontline organizations helping women face crisis pregnancies, life-affirming adoption agencies and those caring for orphans. "We feel like it's very important to use October Baby as an opportunity to serve, give back and save lives," Jon Erwin said. "That's what we want the Every Life is Beautiful Fund to be about."

October Baby is a very high quality and entertaining film and it really makes viewers examine their own thoughts about the importance of life. This is not a bashing on those who have had abortions, it is the opposite it brings healing and hope. While doing research for this article I found facts about abortion laws right now in the United States that not only shocked me, but infuriated me. I, as a citizen, was not aware the statistics and the laws that are in place right now and I plan on taking action. I hope this film will do the same for you. I also learned that because of this film other abortion survivors and those who have had abortions have found healing and support.
