IS IT I?

by Bolaji O.Timothy

While a crucial day of rest drew quite near for Jacob. He summoned his twelve sons and said "Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. There were rains of prophetic blessings, some were rebuked, but one, "REUBEN" was seriously cursed for his misdeed; he defiled his father's bed.

While Jesus was going to conclude the redemption mission on the Calvary tree, He called his twelve disciples together in the last supper, He had with them. He said as they sat and ate " verily, I say unto you, one of you which eateth with me shall betray me. This moment, the cloud of sorrow broke forth upon them; who among us may betray this loving saviour, the expected messiah, the king of Jews, the great and good teacher, the unmatched preacher, the healer and wisdom of God? They cannot imagine who it may be, why, and the outcome of the betrayer, they were all sorrowful. I perceived there was a few minutes silence among these ones. Then one asked the question "Is it I? This was relayed until the twelve disciples did and definitely one matched the quest of betrayer!

It is certain, the days of rest are near the corner, and our saviour Jesus Christ may soon comes as we've long waited. The moment of great awakening will soon come, the hour of that glorification will soon commence and the mystery of resurrection will soon come to the limelight. The awaited revival will soon begin. It is also certain that some are among the disciple, some groups among the groups named the name of the Lord and some gathering where His name is called, may betray Him unto the hands of the committed enemy of the kingdom.

Judas had every spiritual potential other who didn't betray Christ had, but along the way, covetousness, deception and wrong alliance got him so porous for the enemy to occupy and he sold his master so cheap for thirty pieces of silver.

While Judas dipped his hands into the dish with Jesus and asked like others did "is it I?" he got the reply: "Thou has said" Mathew 26:25. As Jacob gave a prophetical woe on REUBEN "unstable as the water, thou shalt not excel" Genesis 49:4. likewise the LORD reminded His disciples about what was spoken in the prophecy about the one that will betray the messiah that "woe to that man by whom the son of man is betrayed! Good were it for that man if he had never been born".

Is it I that will sell the Lord so cheap or costly into the hands of the enemy, so that they can molest him, ridicule his name, course and purpose? Is it I that will betray him for gain of materials and become the stumbling block in the way of men and women who are in eagerness to get pardon from their saviour? Is it I that will hypocritically confuse the sincere seekers and make men candidate of hell? Is it I that will desecrate the altar of God and defile His bride (Church), just as Reuben did to his father's bed?

Is it our "church" or gathering that will be the hindrance to the ripe revival in the body of Christ? Presenting the Lord for all ridicules? Is it I that will conspire against callous men, to put upon Christ rag and split upon him again, drag him before the infidel in the place of authority, agreed with the ignorant and malicious crowd to chant "crucify him"? is it I that will ridicule the word of God and allow men to trample on it as if it has lost its value? Is it I?

Eleven disciples they were, but there was only one who matched the quest of betrayer! Are you the one? Is your church the one? Is your gathering that one? If you are, it is unfortunate!
Despite the opportunities, freedom, gifts and grace, despite the privileges to be called disciples, is it I that will take Christ to the stock market and dangle the bell and chant "for sale". Is it I! Is it I that will place the heavenly resources into the market and mortgage everything. Is it I? If you are the one and your group have the mark of the betrayer, it is unfortunate!
