INCORRECT
by Gabriel Abina
12/26/2017 / Poetry
When you think you stand for truth,
Your tongue sticking to its roof -
The mouth becomes dry of speech,
And your words become empty stitch.
The dark you try to make plain:
You're the embodiment of extreme bluntness,
B’cause you can’t join in their hypocritical blindness,
And wouldn’t mind their religious fallacy.
In life you win some and lose some –
Though you try to be winsome,
Yet its lies become cumbersome,
Your mind burdensome.
This bothers me a lot –
As I pen this thought,
You may think I’m a zealot,
But my thought is my pilot.
I’ll stand for truth and nothing but,
The words of Christ and the bleeding cross –
I’d rather alone for Him stand,
Than miss the glorious eternal band.
