Avoid Spare Tyres In Your Marriage

by Olawale Ogunsola
10/09/2020 / Marriage

Marriage is an initiation from God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. It has been compared with many things and described in various ways. One of them is that marriage is like a journey agreed to be undertaken by two persons, a male and a female, that can accommodate other journey mates or 'passengers; hese are children in the family.

The man or husband will be the main driver while the wife is the conductor or call her the assistant driver. As the driver sits behind the wheels, the assistant is readily available by or behind him to support him in various forms and ways.

This journey should not be embarked on hastily or casually without a serious consideration of everything connected with it.

Most journeys are carried out by a means of transportation : that is why land transportation will be an example with which to compare a marital journey here. This can be by a car, bus or truck depending on many factors or races which is not the aim of this piece to consider.

However, every vehicle with which a journey will be undertaken can not be useful except all its parts are functioning very well. A deficient part will surely scuttle the smoothness of the journey, if it is at all undertaken.

One of such parts is its tyres. No matter how perfect the other parts of a vehicle is, if it has no good tyres, it will be grounded on the spot. It will go no way or it will not go far.

Another important point associated with a vehicle's tyres isthat a vehicle owner will always carry a spare tyre or two along in case there's a tyre burst suddenly so that it can be replaced immediately so the journey may continue as expected.

Let me illustrate this with the story of a driver and his assistant some years ago who embarked on a journey of about one hundred and fifty kilometers long. The journey started well; they had two spare tyres with them.

The two journey mates continued their journey at an amazing speed and drove into any pot holes on the road and driving on any object found on their way

.

After covering the first fifty kilometers, a tyre was punctured after running into a deep pothole hosting a sharp object in it. The car pulled up by a lube bay to replace it with a new one. A few minutes later, the journey continued throwing every caution into the air, and after covering another twenty kilometres, another tyre surfered a burst that nearly claimed their lives because of overspeeding.

That punctured tyre was also replaced by the remaining spare tyre. It was at this point that the driver and his co-traveller agreed that they need to exercise a serious caution on this journey because if there's another tyre burst, there is no one with which to replace it. They determined to
(1) reduce the vehicle speed to fifty kilometres per hour ;

(2) to avoid running into any potholes

and (3) avoiding running the tyres over any soft or hard object, no matter its size, found on the road, among others.

This was how they reached their destination peacefully without any other hitch.

Do you know that an enemy of martial vehicle is a spare tyre? What can a spare tyre in marriage be, you may ask? This is any alternative you have besides your spouse. This alternative(s), spare tyre(s), can make you to throw caution into the winds in the journey, it can bring in a temporary ceasure or end the journey abruptly.

What are the possible spare tyres? This may be your parents, family members, your ex-girlfriend or boyfriend, your current man or woman friends, your colleagues or bosses, your friends or partners in business.

Your marriage vehicle does not require a spare tyre. It will distort your smooth marital journey. If the Scriptures can advise you to forget your own family members to build a successful home, who then must be allowed to disrupt you happy home? Read Genesis 2:24, Psalm 45:10-16, Ben 24:55-67. Avoid spare tyres in your marriage!

Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
