The Power Of Two-Two Are Better Than One

by Ngozi Nwoke
11/04/2020 / Christian Living

It is not good to be alone, for it limits one in many areas. However, two are better than one. For the achievements of two are in multiples compared to the achievements of one. This post emphasizes the need to engage the power of two, anywhere possible in your life.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NKJV).

Introduction

The power of two cannot be overemphasized. For, it is a major key to success in life. And anyone who understands it and engages it is bound to succeed in life. Also, it is a divine number because God recognizes the power of two and engages it too.

Now, when God created everything He saw that they were good except the man. For concerning Adam, the Lord said it was not good when a man is alone (Genesis 2:18). So, He created Eve for Adam and it took two of them to produce children. Again, when God was blessing mothers, He said they would be joyful mothers of children (Psalm 113:9), connoting a minimum of two. Furthermore, when Jesus Christ sent out His disciples to go and evangelize, He sent them out in twos (Luke 10:1). And there are many other scriptures where the power of two was engaged. Surely, the power of two cannot be taken for granted.

Benefits of The Power Of Two

1. Good reward for their labour (Ecclesiastes 4:9)

When two people engage in any good purpose, they're always rewarded with good. This is because they employ the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and ability of both. For instance, it takes the Father and Mother to have children. And children are good rewards.

2. Help and support (Ecclesiastes 4:10)

When you're alone, you will have to do everything alone since you don't have anyone to help or support you in life. Surely, man is not created an island; rather our makeup is such that we can't go far without the help of another. This includes your spiritual life As such, if you lack someone to support and help you spiritually when the enemy strikes, your fall will be disastrous. But when you have someone, even if you fall, the person will help you back on your feet.

3. Warmth and comfort (Ecclesiastes 4:11)

Surely, two are better than one, for they will also comfort themselves and keep warm together. This is so for you when there is someone around when you're challenged. For he will comfort and encourage you. And if you're feeling cold, you can keep yourselves warm faster.

4. Victory in battle (Matthew 18:19)

Battles are real, but what is more real is our victory in life. However, the reality of it is more when you're more than one. This is so when one is attacking you and you have someone to join forces with you. Also, when you're in a spiritual battle and you have someone to join you in prayers, your victory is sure. For God says that if two of you shall agree on anything, it shall be done for you.

5. Fortified strength (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

You're stronger when you're two. This is because two of you will combine your strength to accomplish your desire. Also, your combined force will speed up the process and shorten its completion time. And what you will accomplish in hours you will accomplish in minutes with the help of someone else.

6. Multiples of ten thousand (Joshua 23:10, Deuteronomy 32:30)

The effect of two, when compared to that of one, is in multiples not in additions. This is because according to the scriptures, God will help one to chase one thousand. But with Him, two will put ten thousand to flight. So, what you can accomplish alone, you will accomplish ten times better with your partner.

7. Answered prayers (Matthew 18:19)

Every prayer you pray with someone in faith is sure answered. This is because Christ said that when two of you pray, the Father in heaven answers it. So the power of two ensures that you receive your answered prayers. Therefore, if you need answers to your prayers, get someone to agree with you in prayers.

Conclusion

Indeed, it's not good that a man is alone, for two are better than one. And it's powerful when you engage the power of two. So, if you have no one to support you in life, prayerfully choose one to walk with you. For, you will keep struggling and being easily defeated by the enemy when you're alone. And if you're married make your spouse your partner for your union makes it even stronger. Therefore, engage the power of two in all areas of your life today, for all round success in life.
