Broken Spirit

by Sonja Mattison
11/30/2020 / Self Help

A broken spirit is a loosened heart that is full of hope, faith, and belief that waits for restoration. To piece our broken spirit together, we must rely on a source that is stronger than us that can solve its incompleteness. This spirit is a powerful entity – God himself. Because the Lord is our creator, he is aware of how complex we are with our thoughts that dwell in our minds. His innate power and intelligence give him the ability to know and understand our grief and trouble so that he can provide us what is needed to heal us and minimize feeling “broken.”

We are not God; however, thanks to his grace, we are a part of him, so naturally, he feels our every emotion, so he precisely knows how to restore us. Although our hardships, heartaches, losses, and obstacles will never cease in our lives, with constant faith and belief in God, answers will always be available for our suffering. With his strength, he will fulfill us with joy, happiness, and reason to seek him for healing purposes to overcome our weaknesses.

God is our sovereign and comforter. He heals us to make us whole. Just as scars go through stages to heal, so do our mental and emotional wounds. Through the process, God awards us with days to make the future bright with vast opportunities. New days give us the chance to bring us closer to God to lean on him so that we can vibe in “good spirits.” God is love.

Thriving on God’s love helps with faith and gives us the strength to keep adversity at bay. Even if we feel discouraged and puzzled, God has the power to strengthen us. When we fall, he picks us up. When we rise, he allows us to soar. In essence, through all of our suffering, we are never broken-spirited, but instead maturing spiritually. We are here to purposely love ourselves, honor the Father in the act of faith and be complete in spirit.
