Am I A Husband Material?

by Olawale Ogunsola
1/22/2021 / Mens Issues

Human nature concentrates on my, I, me, myself and mine. Another single word for this is selfishness. This nature came into man's life when Satan successfully tempted them and they, Adam and Eve, first couple fell victims of the devil's antics.

Selfishness is not part of God's nature. Otherwise, He would not create man in His image and likeness ; Genesis 1:26. God, the Creator loves to share His own nature. So, no selfishness is in His nature.

Do you desire a good wife material? It is good and it comes from God who initiated marriage. Is that your desire for a good wife material strong? This is a good thing. How happy will you be if you get one? So may it be in Jesus name. Do you know that there is a lady that fits in?

As you desire a very good wife material, do you know that there are sensible ladies in town who desire a good husband material? If you meet a lady like this, are you fit to be called so? Will a lady looking for a husband material be happy on the long run to meet and be associated with you?

Have you taken the time to ask yourself,"Am I a good husband material?" Let us consider two of the mandatory qualities that will describe you as one:

One, you must be an understanding man. You must be someone who can deal with a woman with understanding. No matter what a woman achieves, she cannot become a man. There are exceptional women who can do certain things a man can do but that does not make them men. A woman is a woman, no one can change that. The Creator made it so, no human permutation can alter that. Any attempt to alter it is a simple exercise in futility.

As at the time of writing this piece, I remember a statement of a woman of God about eleven years ago, (2010 or thereabouts) who said, "A woman is a woman no matter how highly spiritual she is, she will manifest feminine weakness or qualities '

One truth is that there are many people who will shy away from this truth because of some women's attainments.

No matter what, a husband material must be ready to deal with a woman with understanding at anytime. Apostle Peter admonishes,
"Likewise, ye husband, dwell with them (wives) according to knowledge ;
giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessels..." I Peter 3:7 KJV.
This bold Apostle knows that as a man must know who a woman is and what are the needs that can be satisfied to make her happy. As a husband material, you must know and understand a woman's body language with an intention to apply wisdom. So, how much knowledge do you have and to what extend is your understanding of a woman's statements are you wise enough to decode a woman's coded words?

You must possess this to be a husband material.

Two, to be a husband material calls for readiness to please your spouse. If you are a man who thinks only of his own comfort, this is selfishness. You must eschew this to be a husband material. The Scriptures says,
"But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world,
how he may please his wife." I Corinthians 7:33. King James Version (KJV)

As much as possible within your God-given ability, are you prepared to please a woman who becomes your wife? Are you ready to make her happy as much as you can? To be a husband material calls for being a source of joy to your wife - are you fit for this? Can you be seen by a woman as such from your words and deeds?

Let me state it here that these two qualities, among others, must be within the dictate of the Scriptures and in love. Your love for the Lord in everything is first before pleasing any other person, including yourself. You can see the arrangement in Mark 12:30-31. Love your God, love yourself and love others as much as you love yourself. I should not fail to inform you that being a husband material does not mean you can satisfy every woman or that you should do. You cannot please everybody. Do you know what? Only know and do the right thing. The person who want a husband material will locate and recognise you. By prayer and supplications, you will be attracted by a lady who will not just feast on your good qualities with the aim of dumping you in the afternoon or evening of your life.

Therefore, be a husband material and your Lord will be pleased with you because He also cares for mankind whom He made in His image and likeness ; Gen 1:26.
