Remember Job?

‘Aaron, did you have to do that…, now…, Aaron?!

Anne asked, finding it hard not to shout as Aaron walked away, seemingly ignoring her. Anne could barely contain her anger.

He kept on walking; he did not answer her.

From the corner of her eye, Anne saw a woman hastily walking away…; or, was it a man…, his business partner? She wondered if there was a connection, then, dismissed the idea.

Anyhow, it does not matter. The decision to split up was made some time ago already. Somehow, I will get through this; I just know I will.

As Aaron walked away, Anne realized it was just another confirmation that she took the right decision. She went to their home and started packing Aaron’s stuff. Quickly, yet meticulously, making sure, just his stuff. Hours later Aaron arrived, picking up his stuff that Anne left on the front porch.

Aaron and Anne might as well be your child, colleague, parents, partner, sibling, etc.
___________ .

The above incident is the story of most of us. Whether it being another woman, man, irregularities at the office, irregularities on a personal level, lies…, it all cuts deeply.

The Band-Aid of denying only leads to festering and it eventually spreads. It is hard to keep pretending behind contemptuous words and satirical smiles. It will only sustain and pacify the ego thus reinforcing the abyss, which is forming in the background. What will the purpose be; but a selfish one…as every individual has so much to give to others?

Allowing the intensity of the emotional injury to affect you influences your relationship with Jesus and all those around you. Harsh words? No, fact, but healing and forgiving are ongoing processes.

Light, Love, and Peace shines through us all from God. Nurturing an offence is covering that Light, Love, and Peace, which Jesus has sacrificed for so much. His wounds caused by the thorny crown he was forced to wear; the lashings on His back was so that we do not have to take offence, instead to turn to Him.

The depth and extend of the wound is up to the individual, not up to Jesus.

Trust God, he gave us the ability to grow to become more and more like Him.

Remember Job; in the Book of Job in the Bible? He kept his faith and trust. He did not allow his wounds to wound him up!

I love writing and has been writing on and off for a number of years. Recently this developed into part time passion. Through the guidance of God, I believe there is a message that needs to be in print. I am a collector of books, the older the better. Currently I reside in Pretoria, South Africa.
