"Happy birthday!" I tell my dear husband every morning (unless I'm out of town or something, and we still pray for each other and speak Scriptures over each other, by voice or text), as he is preparing for work. Sometimes, I've told him that several times a day.

It delights him, and delight is something that only the LORD Who is Love (I John 4:8) can give; a priceless thing that cannot be bought.

I've done this for years, and another thing related to that which I do is to send birthday cards to my mother (now 80, a disabled widow for the past several years) and other loved ones--whether it's their birthday or not.

Why just send one card a year? To save money, you can make your cards, or buy them for just 50 cents each at a local dollar store.

I've sent my dear mom and others birthday cards "out of season," and I make no apologies about it. They always enjoy getting them! I also make it a practice to enscribe them with Numbers 6:24-26 (AMPC), The Priestly Blessing:

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you; 26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).

Mom has been getting this Scripture in her cards for years, and it is my hope that it is getting into her heart. The Word never returns void, but accomplishes that for which God sends it (Isaiah 55:10-12). Hallelujah!

Birthday cards are available all year round, but feel free to send cards for other occasions! Again, make your own, or stock up at 50 cents or so each, when seasonal cards are available.

Today, I'm going to send Mom a St. Patrick's Day card with--you guessed it--Numbers 6:24-26 in it. I also write other Scriptures in her cards, and those I send to other loved ones, as the Holy Spirit inspires me.

By the way, if the LORD brings to mind a Scripture for a loved one that doesn't seem to make sense to you, write it in the card anyway! Speak it over them anyway! We don't know all things, but the LORD does, and He can use our words--written and spoken--to do great things in our loved ones' lives and ours!

HALLELUJAH, HOW GOOD AND GRACIOUS IS OUR LOVING DADDY GOD!!

So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God’s family with you, the believers].--Galatians 6:10, AMPC
