With Love
by Faith Jansky
12/08/2022 / Poetry
Jesus once told a story,
About the great judgement day;
There were people who did good,
And thought they’d walked in God’s way.
But alas, they were turned out,
And told He did not know them.
What could ever have gone wrong,
That their soul, God did condemn?
Their deeds of good, were many,
But they were their own, not God’s.
They didn’t love, or know Him,
But lived for other’s applause.
God knows each one, who loves Him,
And, by His grace, does His will!
He wants to be our Father,
And His promises, fulfill.
We can live a life so ‘good’,
And our God, not really know.
He wants a true heart of love,
From which, a right life will grow.
A heart that’s overflowing
With love, for the King of Kings,
Will gladly do what He wills,
And great glory, to Him bring!
True joy is found in loving,
And doing the will of God;
In losing ourselves, for Him,
Not caring for man’s applaud.
1 Cor. 8:3
But if any man love God, the same is known of Him.
Matthew 7:21-23
