I Remember Calvary

I’m not defined by others ‘round,
By their smiles, or by their frowns;
But by my Lord, Who died to set me free.
I’m not defined by their applaud,
But by my Father, God,
Who loved me first, and died on Calvary.


Refrain:
I remember Calvary,
And my dear Lord, Who ransomed me.
It was not based on what I’d done,
But in great love, He gave His Son.
Oh, I remember Calvary
And then I know God still loves me!
I remember, I remember, Calvary.


He sees my failures and my sin;
He knows my past, and where I’ve been.
Yet He does not see as others see.
In love, He looks into my heart,
And searches ev’ry part;
For I’m His own; bought at Calvary.

When others mock, or throw me out,
My God’s great love I often doubt,
Until I think of His death for me.
He loved me first, and I love Him;
He gives me peace within,
When I take my doubts to Calvary.

Now I can live for my God’s smile,
And find His strength in each trial;
For in Him is all my victory!
His love shines bright upon my way,
As I seek Him each day;
For I still remember Calvary.
