Reproaching People Of God.

by Olawale Ogunsola
1/11/2023 / Christian Apologetics

In their relationship, people of God sometimes have issues with Him. It is possible that they have derailed from His instructions to their own hurt. This is because disobedience by the people magnetizes punishment or application of one form of corrective measure or another from the Lord.

While serving the corrective measures, God does not allow anyone to add insult of any form to their injury. He will not look kindly on anyone who makes them a laughing stock or reproach in anyway.

If He gives such fellow any warning, it is better he listens and desists from such deeds
This was the case with the Amonites on God's people.
"25:3 ...Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;
25:4 Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.
25:6 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;
25:7 Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. Ezekiel"

So, there is always a severe discipline on all who look on the Lord's people to rejoice over their calamity or affliction. The Lord will not take it kindly with them. He will provide them a similar dose of His people's affliction so that they also will have a first class experience of what God's people pass through to learn not to reproach.

Beloved, do you know that many, if not all the troubles that man goes through are results of his actions or inactions? The Lord did not plan to vex His wrath on the Amonites until they touched the Israelites with their words and actions. It was then that He responded on behalf of His people. He pleaded their cause.
Therefore, do not incur the wrath of God by reproaching or rejoicing over the sorrow of God's people.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
