SYMPATHY FOR THE JEWS

by linzy bruno
7/31/2023 / Salvation

“Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of  Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’” (Zachariah 8:23, nkjv)

All of chapter 8 in Zachariah refers to the 1,000 year reign of Christ on the earth, but the above verse is the most poignant and direct reflection of what it will finally be like to be Jewish during that glorious period of time. In those days the Jews will finally be revered and respected by all other people groups for the first time in their silent battle for dignity against the entire world.

For centuries the Jews have been living as if in isolation; feeling set apart for their position on what the Bible has to say. But how terrible it must be for them being ostracized by so many other people groups’ or even individuals who have nothing but distain for their position and particularly when some of those other people seriously lack sympathy for what the Jews have been through.

After all, if we put ourselves in their shoes, in consideration of their plight, it isn’t that difficult to see why they are worthy of a bit of sympathy and understanding.

As I stated in my last article “Awake To The American Dream,” Tucker Carlson has recently appeared in a video where he says something quite profound and eye-opening. He boldly states that we are all born wanting to know everything like God does and when we finally get to the point where we are comfortable and can freely admit when we are wrong; this is more liberating and life changing than anything.

Then and only then can we get over ourselves and give God all of the responsibility of knowing everything and let Him be God in our lives and take that deep breath of relief that we are NOT. This is only a loose translation, but he was saying that our pride can really get in our way!

With that in mind, let us consider how difficult and even humiliating it would be to be a Jew to admit that everything they have believed in for centuries was wrong. And considering the familial pretense of forbidding the reading of the New Testament for fear their offspring would believe in Christ Jesus and His Salvation as the only salvation, we can see yet another layer of complication in their plight. If admitting we are wrong is hard for us as individuals, just imagine how earth-shatteringly hard it has to be for an entire nation/ethnic group of people to admit they were ALL WRONG! And if one Jew admits this, they are outing all of their people collectively, thus, one  confession of Christ is equivalent to the confession of the entire nation of Israel. This is only to point out the bravery of what it means and what it may take to openly become a Christian Jew, especially if they are alone in their family of faith, or have to confront outrage from their own people.

Therefore, while we pray for their salvation, let us also keep sympathy in our hearts for all the confusion and misunderstanding of their ancestors, all the grief and pain and death, all the discrimination and undue hatred, and ALL the persecution they have been through and will continue to go through until they face their final hurdle: Getting through JACOB’S TROUBLE and finally seeing their Messiah for WHO HE IS! JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR!! THAT IS unless the power of prayer and personal revelation causes a few to be spared Jacob’s Trouble, that they be saved while we are yet in the Church Age!

Let us pray and be mindful of the courage it must take.....
