I CAN SEE YOUR HALO

I can see your halo;

it shines bright like the sun.

First you learned to crawl,

now you skip,

jump and run.

 

I can see your halo;

glowing so brave and strong,

and with Christlike meekness,

gently cascading your times along.

 

I can see your halo;

sparkling light of a new day.

First you learned to coo,

then talk,

then things better not to say.

 

Whether you are abased or abounding,

your inner strength is sure;

having your mind cleansed

and your heart changed and pure.

 

I can see your halo,

It shines bright like the sun.

First you learned to crawl,

now you skip,

jump and run.

 

But not of your own doing, lad,

as vital as it is to say,

but God’s Spirit gleaming and

shining on your halo in countless ways…

 

and in any sort of days….

 

I can see your halo;

shining bright as the new moon.

First you learned lovingkindness,

and as for men,

never do you swoon.
