Even the LORD Doesn't Work Alone!

by Tonja Taylor
3/08/2024 / Christian Living

For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. - Ecc. 4:10, NKJV

We were created not to be independent, but inter-dependent; to need God and other people to accomplish our destiny on the planet. God's got our backs, and He supplies partners to get His work done.

He who isolates himself pursues selfish desires; he rebels against all sound judgment.  - Proverbs 18:1, Berean Standard Bible

There is a time to be alone with God, of course, and sometimes we just need some private time to rest--like I have lately, after several hard months of taking care of my dear disabled, diseased, dissatisfied mother, who is now in perfect peace and wholeness in Heaven with the LORD, bless His name!

We need God first, and then we need each other.  We need a "faith buddy", whether a spouse (and I have the best in the world!), a close friend, a relative who is truly walking with God and tuned in to His Voice, etc.

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. - Proverbs 27:17, Berean Standard Bible

When we get around others--especially in a Bible-believing church, or other gathering of true Believers in Christ--we forget ourselves and our problems. We can focus on the goodness of God, and love on others, and receive love.

No one is perfect, but much more is accomplished for the LORD, and we can usually learn new things, meet new people, and have interesting experiences as we partner with others to get His work done!

So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work. - Nehemiah 4:6, NKJV

And he called his twelve disciples together and began sending them out two by two, giving them authority to cast out evil spirits. - Mark 6:7, NLT

Even LORD Jesus doesn't work alone! He has chosen to require our partnership to get His will done in the earth.

Surely the LORD God does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets. - Amos 3:7, Berean Standard Bible

It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God ordained with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘AND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.’ - Acts 3:25, NASB

I know that it's often easier to just stay home. Trust me, I know. I also know that, no matter how hard things have been--even as a single divorced mom of a young child long ago--it was always worth it to make the effort (neat hair or not!) to go to my Bible-believing church and be around other true siblings in Christ; to get into the atmosphere where I knew I was loved and free to worship God, be prayed for, and learn more of His wonderful Word.

Yeah, I know you may have no idea what to talk about, or what to wear. Just be yourself, and know that, no matter what others may think, your Daddy God (as long as you have truly repented of your sin and asked His Son, the LORD Jesus Christ, to forgive you and cleanse your heart with His pure blood shed on the cross of Calvary, and come into your life and be your Savior and LORD, that is (John 3:16, Romans 5:1-5) thinks you are perfect! He is smiling at you! He is always with you, and expects you to get to know other Believers and help them on their journey.

Many people, even Believers, would still be on the planet today, and could be discovering more of God's Love and His wonderful Plan for them, if they had just not tried to "go it alone." That is a strategy of the enemy for destruction.

So outwit him! God's Plans for you are amazing and excellent, and where you'll be the most satisfied, prosperous, influential, and free.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. - Jeremiah 29:11, KJV

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life. - Ephesians 2:10, Berean Standard Bible

You are never alone, for once you have received Christ Jesus, He is with you always, even unto the end of the world. Hallelujah!

The Master Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20, NASB95

We still need people who inspire us to draw closer to God. Go for it. Ask Him to make you brave, to take a new step today, to reach out to others whom He shows you. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
