Short Prayers for the Nation and the Church

Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.--I Timothy 2:2, NASB95

Therefore, confess your sins to on another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. - James 5:16, NASB95

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, But the prayer of the upright is His delight. - Proverbs 15:8, NASB95

As true Believers, we have the God-given honor and responsibility to pray for the USA and the Church. Here are short prayers from Psalm 31 to help accomplish God's purpose in His earth (Psalm 24:1).

(I have put "(The/USA)" or "(The Church)" or "(we)" in place of "me" or "I" and such. You can print these out and proclaim them daily.)

By the way, let your child(ren) hear and see you read the Scriptures out loud, as you intercede for the USA and the Church. Also, let your child(ren) read them out loud. You, the child(ren), and the LORD will all be blessed!

When you sow the eternal, matchless, unchanging, life-giving Word of God into your loved ones, that Word will keep on growing and bearing fruit in their lives!

Hallelujah!

So let's pray:

Father, we thank and praise You that You led people devoted to You to establish the USA, for freedom to worship You, and to live and promote Your Word throughout the earth. We cast our cares on You, confessing that our nation is in a horrid mess. First, we ask You to forgive us for our weaknesses, sins, and abominations against You in this nation--from the natural government to the true Church, Your Body.

We praise and thank You that, according to Your unchanging Word in James 2:13, Your mercy triumphs over judgment, and Lamentations 3:22 and Malachi 3:6 say You are the merciful LORD Who changes not; thus we are not destroyed! Hallelujah!

Thank You, LORD, that it is Your blessed Holy Spirit Who prompts and teaches us to pray Your will back to You, that Your Way may be known, desired, and followed in this, Your earth (Psalm 24:1; Psalm 67:2; Psalm 86:11). Hallelujah!

LORD, as it is written in Psalm 31 (NASB95), we pray: Let not (the USA and the Church) not be put to shame, O LORD, for (we) call upon You; Let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent in Sheol.

Let the lying lips (against the USA and the Church) be mute, Which speak arrogantly against the righteous (Church) With pride and contempt.

Hide (the USA and the Church) in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man; keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.

Blessed be the LORD, For He has made marvelous His lovingkindness to (the USA and the Church) in a besieged city (land).

As for (the USA and the Church), (we) said in (our) alarm, “(We are) cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of (our) supplications when (we) cried to You.

O love the LORD, all you His godly ones! The LORD preserves (us) the faithful And fully recompenses the proud doer (against the USA and the Church).

(Let us) Be strong and let our hearts take courage, All (of us) who hope in the LORD. - Psalm 31:17-24, NASB95

Pray these often. You don't have to just pray once a day! The LORD loves to hear His Word, and watches over His Word to perform it. His angels listen to and go to work when they hear God's Word. Hallelujah!

Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. - Psalm 86:11, NASB95

That Your way may be known on the earth, Your salvation among all nations. - Psalm 67:2, NASB95

O LORD, lead me in Your righteousness because of my foes; Make Your way straight before me. - Psalm 5:8, NASB95
