Bridged the Gap

by PamFord Davis
10/10/2024 / Devotionals

I know it’s not right; I shouldn’t be judgmental of the younger generation. I don’t like the baggy boy’s pants or seeing girls in blue jeans full of big holes. I think the current prom attire trend has crossed the line. Young girls now wear slinky and revealing dresses with no thoughts of modesty.

Music?

They call that music?

Don’t blame me; it’s the generation gap!

The label isn’t new; the divide isn’t either.

We say we never did it that way; yet, each generation brings change. Some are good; others are detrimental. The Prodigal Son rebelled and widened the gap. I’d say, ‘he wanted his space.’ He left home and put as much space as possible between him and his father. (Luke 15:11-32)

God bridged the gap between Himself and mankind.

Will our generation share His way to reconciliation?

Will the next?

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NASB).”
