SOUL DANCE (excerpt): Precious One, God Does Hear You!

by Tonja Taylor
10/20/2024 / Missions

We also know that, as Isaiah 65:24 (KJV) states, "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."

While ministering at a homeless mission with an outside church today, I encountered a young woman who thought she was sure of her Salvation through Christ, then wasn't sure she'd go to Heaven; not sure He hears her. But I know He does!

My husband and I went with the group to our church's monthly homeless outreach, where the precious ones were prayed for, and also supplied with bibles and Christian books, water, clothing, blankets, tents, haircuts, chiropractic treatments, blood pressure checks, and more.

My husband and I helped the group unload the truck and carry things to various tents. We prayed, and the people started coming.

There were a few people who said they'd already been prayed for by the time they got to my husband and me, but I did pray with several. All but one (men and women) that I spoke with said they knew Jesus in their hearts, and said their relationship with Him was good.

I prayed with many of them, and was touched by their genuine appreciation and openness about their needs. We encouraged them with positive things we could see/sense about them, and shared that we'd had struggles too, but that GOD LOVES THEM AND IS GOOD and is making a way for them to get out of the wilderness!

A few of the women gave me hugs after I prayed with them, or after they returned back my way, from visiting different booths.

Most of the people said they knew the LORD Jesus, and I believe them. One young man was feeling condemned, and said that he needed to do more, and be closer, even though he was going to church and into the Word daily (He showed us a long list of Bible names for God, and Scripture, etc. that he reviews very often, he said.) We understood that pressure and condemnation of not ever feeling like we're doing enough to be worthy of God's love.

My husband explained to the young man that it was not about our performance, but about what Jesus did for us! We prayed with him and told him he was doing the right things; to keep doing them and know that God loves him and will help him.  He seemed to be encouraged.

There were two women, one a young 20-something named Katy, who wanted us to pray for the community, and her family, and I complimented her on her big heart! At first said she knew Jesus, then, when I asked her where she would go if she died, said she wasn't sure. I went right into the Scriptures of Romans 3:23, 6:23, then 10:13, and then told her to repeat after me the prayer. We started, but then she started walking off, saying sadly, "I don't think He hears me...." PLEASE AGREE WITH US THAT THE LORD WILL REVEAL HIMSELF TO HER, and WIN HER HEART! THANK YOU!

We know that, according to I John 5:14-15, when we pray in God's will, we know that He hears us, and thus we have what we ask.  I did not get time to explain that to that precious young woman, but I know it's God's will for her to know Him more deeply, and that He DOES hear her, so I know He will answer our prayers that she understand and believe that! Hallelujah!

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. - I John 5:14-15, KJV

How gracious is the Great God of Heaven, Who hears and answers the cry of us, His beloved children--and perfectly, above any human parent!

Also, there was a woman about my age, who, when asked if we could pray for her, asked for prayer for her sister. We complimented her also on the love in her heart to ask us to pray for others. She said she believed in God, but was a little uncomfortable as she politely told us she didn't believe in Jesus. We told her He loves her.

She walked away, and I went up to her and told her softly that, if she believes in God, then she believes in Jesus, for they are One, and that He loves her. (I know that people can separate them in their minds, but I believe He led me to gently say that to her. I'm just the messenger, and I trust Him to finish what He has started, amen and amen!!!)

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. - Phil. 9:6, KJV

So, we have to remember that we are just the messengers, through whom the Message of Christ flows through.  We partner with God to plant and water, and He brings forth the fruit!

So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. - I Cor. 3:7,NKJV
