More Things I've Learned About Prayer in Bible School

by Tonja Taylor
12/05/2024 / Prayers

These are some of the things I've learned about prayer, and how I implement them:

  • Prayer” involves so much more than just the repetition of certain Scriptures and other words; it is to be the flow of the all-knowing, creative, unlimited but unchanging Holy Spirit. I have learned to just start worshiping the LORD by singing, or reading His Word aloud, and He helps me focus on Him, and go with the flow of the Spirit. He alone knows how He needs us to pray.

  • Each prayer is unique, when we go with the flow of God, for He knows exactly what we should pray, when, and how. I used to marvel at how the LORD would bring to mind for me to pray for a certain city or state or country (some, I’d not heard of, but would find on the map—of course!) or for a person that I was not thinking about at all. Those thoughts were obviously from Him; He needed someone to intercede for them at the moment, and gave me the opportunity!
  •            I agree that, as Dr. Billye Brim (and others) stated, “Only an awakening to God will save America”—not complaining (which only wastes time, words, and energy!), so I’ve learned to not complain, but focus on His power, mercy, faithfulness, and grace. I’ve been praying for an awakening for the America for years, as I wave my USA and “Jesus” and “Yeshua” (the latter two handmade, and anointed with oil) flags over my glass globe of the world, and know now and trust more than ever that God can use the “foolish things” to accomplish His purpose, as I yield to Him.

  • Interpretation of tongues is not a translation, but the heart of the message, and that interpretation can come as an idea, concept, action, a “flawless flow” of English, or phrases, or even one word, like “REJOICE!”. That helps me a lot! Now, I believe I have interpreted and will interpret my own and others’ tongues much more than I’d thought was possible! THANK YOU!
