The Lord Holds The Keys
by Olawale Ogunsola
12/31/2024 / Christian Apologetics
1:2 And he (Elkana) had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.1:5 But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb.1:6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb. 1 Samuel
The above are words about a family of people of God. What is recorded here is not only common in families but it is in life generally.
Those who have certain things believe that it is by their might and power that they have their possessions. Therefore, they look down on those who have not and mock them also.
Whereas, the Lord holds the keys and He opens doors for whoever He wants.
Hannah had no children.
In the same family, a wife had no child when the other had many! It was not the fault of the one having none. She had no power or might over her situation.
The Lord had shut her Womb.
The Scriptures do not leave us in the dark as to who has control over all things. It is the Lord.
The above quotation reveals that it was the Lord Who had the keys to Hannah's Womb and Who closed it for reasons known to Him alone. One thing is sure, it was for His glory.
Provocation came because the Lord had shut her Womb.
Provocation usually follows every lack from those who have. It happens even today and it will continue to.
One wise thing that Hannah did was that she did not join issues with the adversary. She knew that could not help her in any way. She decided and took the right step. What was it?
She went to the keys Holder.
The barren woman knew the house of the Personality who held the keys to her Womb, so she sought His audience.
1:15 And Hannah answered (Élì, the High Priest) and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit:... but have poured out my soul before the LORD. 1 Samuel
At the venue of her meeting with the Right Person, an obstruction emerged. A provocation agent on duty almost wasted her chance but as she overcame at home, she did in the house of the Lord. She had a successful discussion with her Maker.
The Womb was opened.
Her discussion brought her desired request.
1:20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time came about after Hannah had conceived, that she bear a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD. 1 Samuel.
Your testimony is next.
Beloved, what is it that you lack that has turned you into a laughing stock? Do not worry or be angry with those who have but chose to mock you. You have no problem with them. They are agents to inspire you to go out and meet the right Keys-Holder, who is your Creator. Seek His audience. He will attend to you promptly. If He heard Hannah in her time, He would listen to you and give you the desire of your heart.
The Lord holds the keys to all that you need and that you will ever need. Seek His face in faith and truth. He has never failed and He will never fail you in Jesus name.
Stay blessed and prepared for the coming of the Lord.
