Prayer Plus... (Part 9)

On the terminal day.
"So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may
go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” 1 Kings 17:12. NKJV.

The above are the declarations of truth from a great woman of faith in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible.

Those words were uttered during a drought that ravaged the land when every hope was lost. The Lord Who never fails arranged for two people to meet together miraculously, a Prophet and a widow from two different cities (nations, too) on the appointed day that mattered most.

These two people had the same need to be attended to, hunger.

The guest had nothing but assurance from the Lord Who assured him of providing for his needs through a window.

The woman must have prayed for God's intervention in the situation until the day she met Prophet Elijah.

On that day, the man of God had the authority of God at his disposal while the woman had a "little" flour and oil barely enough for two people to eat. She also had faith that can put others first and she exercised it for her benefit and that of her house.

After her declaration, the Lord declared the truth from the Lord thus: "For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’ ” 1 kings 17:14.

Elijah's words were confirmed because the Scriptures confirmed,
"The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah." 1 Kings 17:16.

Both put their faith into practice for their own benefits.

These confirm the Scriptures both in the Old and New Testaments that
"The just shall live by faith." Hab 2:4, Hebrews 10:38.

Beloved, on the day of your answered prayers, you will not fail to give your only possession required of you in the name of Jesus Chrit.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
