Do you remember the seriousness of your parents repeated instructions? "Pam, go clean your room! Go clean your room!" They left no room for doubt; the statements needed no clarification. The repetition carried a message of extreme importance. My ears perked up and I weighed their words. I got the message. Did I follow through?
The Apostle Paul effectively used his chosen word twice. "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice (Philippians 4:4 NKJ)!" There is another phrase you may recall: "If you know what's good for you" Paul knew that rejoicing is always the right choice. We can not always rejoice in our circumstances; but as believers we can always rejoice in the Lord and His love.
