Spring arrives in
a parade of icy chunks
playing jack-of-lantern
in the harbour.
From Economy Mountain
I focus on winter's
lingering stare
hay fields huddling
beneath the snow
in bewildered disarray.
Weathered houses are
random sprinkles; crows
deer, a cat, foraging
within my view
and blueberry fields
showcase purple tinges,
through a mask of white.
Straying from my perch
I wish to join the dance.
